  • Securing the Kilombero Elephant Corridor in Tanzania August 30, 2023

    For years, the Southern Tanzania Elephant Program (STEP) has led a multi-stakeholder effort to restore and protect the Kilombero Elephant Corridor in south-central Tanzania, aiming to manage elephant movement, reduce human-elephant conflict, and enhance local livelihoods by connecting Udzungwa Mountains National Park, Magombera Forest Nature Reserve, and Nyerere National Park through a community-driven project involving land valuation, compensation, and conservation agreements, while fostering habitat restoration, monitoring, and community engagement.

  • Expanding the Narupa Reserve in Ecuador August 30, 2023

    Established in 1998, Fundación Jocotoco, an Ecuadorian NGO, aims to safeguard threatened species and habitats, having grown from focusing on rare bird species to becoming Ecuador's leading conservation organization, protecting 31,000 hectares across 15 reserves; their Narupa Reserve strategically conserves diverse Amazonian species, including endangered birds and recently recolonized Spectacled Bears, with plans to expand and connect the reserve for enhanced protection and gene flow, supported by Quick Response for Nature.

  • Protecting the Nelson Palacios Reserve in Ecuador August 30, 2023

    Fundacion EcoMinga, an Ecuadorian non-profit NGO, focuses on safeguarding high-endemism areas and biodiversity through a private protected reserve system, having established thirteen reserves across Ecuador covering over 10,000 hectares; with urgent funding from Quick Response Fund for Nature, they acquired and protected the Nelson Palacios Reserve, crucial for preserving locally endemic species and threatened mammals, serving as a vital conservation network in Ecuador.

  • Conserving the San Bartolo Rainforest in Panama August 30, 2023

    The Asociacion Adopta Bosque Panama-ADOPTA is a non-profit organization focused on conserving and developing the unique natural ecosystems of Panama, particularly the San Bartolo Rainforest, home to endangered species, which they successfully secured and preserved through funding from the Quick Response Fund for Nature.

  • Heartland Ranch Nature Preserve Expansion – Jagers Phases 2 & 3 February 13, 2023

    Through this land acquisition project, SPLT expanded our Heartland Ranch Nature Preserve in Bent County in southeastern Colorado by adding 17,899 acres, bringing the total contiguous area of the preserve to 42,674 acres or 17,270 hectares.
