The Preventing Extinction Fund awards grants to projects focused on securing protection for species at the highest risk of extinction across the tropics and subtropics. Meanwhile, Quick Response Fund for Nature also considers habitat protection projects sites outside of the tropics and subtropics. Priority is given to unprotected sites within the Global Safety Net layer, particularly Rare Species Sites (magenta), but High Biodiversity Areas (dark green), Large Mammal Landscapes (light green), Intact Wilderness Areas (dark blue), and Climate Stabilization Areas (light blue) are also considered.
