Conservation opportunities move quickly. Funding often doesn’t.

In conservation, opportunities to protect critical habitats, and the rare and endangered species they support, may arise abruptly and require an urgent financial commitment. These opportunities are often highly time-sensitive. Once a property becomes available, conservation groups often find themselves competing with developers, mining interests, agribusinesses, and other buyers that can move capital quickly.

Yet most conservation funding is distributed through annual or semi-annual grant cycles that are not designed to respond to urgent opportunities on the ground. As a result, irreplaceable habitats and some of the world’s last refuges for endangered species can be lost before conservation funding becomes available.

QRFN was created to address this gap by providing rapid, targeted funding that enables local conservation organizations to act when timing matters most and secure critical conservation opportunities before they are lost.
