As part of the Quick Response Fund for Nature’s 10-year anniversary celebration, we invited several grantee partners to share updates on the impact of projects supported through the fund. In this video, Fundación ProAves reflects on its longstanding partnership with QRFN and the conservation successes made possible through rapid action and local leadership.
Over the past decade, QRFN has partnered with ProAves to create and expand three critical reserves in Colombia: the El Paujil Reserve, the Las Tangaras Reserve, and the El Dorado Reserve. Through rapid and catalytic conservation funding, these projects helped seize time-sensitive opportunities to protect irreplaceable habitat before it was lost to deforestation and fragmentation.
Together, these efforts have safeguarded critical ecosystems for some of Colombia’s most threatened wildlife, including the Blue-billed Curassow (CR), Variegated Spider Monkey (CR), Gold-ringed Tanager (VU), and Black-and-gold Tanager, while strengthening connectivity between protected landscapes. This video offers a glimpse of what can be achieved when local conservation leadership is paired with timely support, creating lasting benefits for biodiversity and communities alike.
